Community Park bathrooms just gotta go

The Belgium Village Board this month approved knocking down the old bathrooms near Community Park.

Public Works Director Dan Birenbaum said last year the village was looking into putting on a new roof and using the facility for storage, but a quote of $26,000 was too pricey for the job.

“We don’t feel it’s justifiable to do that,” he said.

The village will knock down the building in winter, and the area will be used for parking and will offer a place for water to flow away from the newly resurfaced pickleball and tennis courts, Birenbaum said.
