Club recognizes student for service to school, community

Honored for her involvement in her school and the community, Port Washington High School junior Claire Holtebeck received the Port Washington-Saukville Rotary Club’s 2018-19 Service Above Self Award during the club’s May 29 meeting at Twisted Willow restaurant. Posing with Claire (center, holding plaque) were (from left) Port High Principal Eric Burke, Rotary Club President Doug McManus, her parents Lisa and Andy Holtebeck and Port Washington-Saukville School Supt. Michael Weber, who is a member of the club. Claire is a member of student council and the women’s vocal jazz ensemble and plays varsity soccer. She also volunteers to help several causes that benefit children and works three jobs. The award comes with $250 from the club, which she will donate to the summer recreation program hosted by Balance Inc., a Grafton nonprofit agency that provides services for people with developmental disabilities.
