Club to host boat parade, park party

Decorated boats will light up the Port Washington harbor on Sunday, Sept. 4, during the Port Washington Yacht Club Venetian Nigh Boat Parade.

The route of the parade, which is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m., will take boats past Coal Dock and Rotary parks, where crowds gathered to watch last year’s event.

Before that, on Saturday, Sept. 3, the yacht club will host a cookout in Veterans Park that will feature music by the Shad Lads.

Burgers, brats and hot dogs, as well as beer, wine and soda, will be sold during the event, which begins at 5 p.m.

The cookout is part of the club’s Rendezvous Regatta, which will feature sailboat racing off Port Washington earlier that day.
