Chili cook-off, Chamber dinner to be held
The Belgium Area Chamber of Commerce is holding its first Drive-Through Chili Cookoff on Sunday.
For $15, participants may pick up five samples of chili at Village Hall, 104 Peter Thien Ave., from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or until supplies run out.
Chili will be from Big Ed’s Smoke Pit, Buechler Farms, Kyotes Bar & Grill, Seven Hills Pub & Grill and Inventors Brewpub.
Participants may vote for their favorite chili on the Chamber’s Facebook page. The winning recipe will receive bragging rights and a chili trophy donated by Kyotes.
Tickets are available at Village Hall on Sunday or ahead of time at the Chamber website at www.belgiumareachamber.org, Village Hall, Kyotes, Buechler Farms, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Port Washington State Bank and Plus Group Wealth Advisors.
Celebrate Belgium, the Chamber’s annual awards dinner, will be held at Memories Ballroom on Wednesday, Nov. 11.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m., followed by the awards presentation and a performance by comedian Mike Mercury.
Masks and sanitizer will be available, and tables will allow for social distancing.
Tickets are $25 and available at the Chamber’s website, Village Hall, Plus Group Wealth Advisors, Port Washington State Bank and Kyotes.
Entries are being accepted tor the annual European Christmas parade. The event will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday Dec. 6 with an altered route due to the coronavirus.
Instead of handing out candy or flyers, swag bags will be given at the start of the parade. No post-parade activities will be held.
