Children’s author to give talk in Port on Oct. 26

    Noted children’s book author Barbara Joosse will present her newest book, “The Fishermen, the Horse and the Sea,” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, at the Niederkorn Library in Port Washington.
    This is the 55th book written by Joosse, a Port resident.
    It is based on a well-known Lake Michigan rescue in 1895 that has become part of Port’s lore.
    Joosse will talk about the book, which will be available for purchase, and sign copies.
    Light refreshments will be available.
    The event is hosted by the Friends of the Niederkorn Library.
    It will be held in the community room of the library, 316 W. Grand Ave.
