CG-Belgium boys take sixth in county meet

The Cedar Grove-Belgium High School boys’ cross country team scored 136 points and took sixth in the Sheboygan County Meet on Sept. 30. Sheboygan South won with 56 points.

Top runner Weston Huenink missed the race with a cold. The Rockets’ top-five were: Nolan Brill, 14th, 18 minutes, 34 seconds; Jack Krause, 18th, 18:52; Grady Ketterhagen, 31st, 19:34; Andrew Neese, 34th, 19:35; and Abram Brill, 19:43.

The girls didn’t have a complete team. Their finishers were: Brynlee Schmidt, third, 20:19; Antonia Leonhards, 37th, 24:22; and Hannah Langer, 55th, 26:48.

Grafton’s boys scored 106 points and took fourth at the Terry Krall Invite in the Town of Polk last Thursday. Their finishers were: Asher Kagamba, 12th, 18:12; Aidan Matthews, 14th, 18:21; Jackson Urbain, 17th, 18:28; Alex Bergmann, 24th, 18:43; and Luke Hanson, 40th, 19:25.

The girls were last of seven teams with 189 points. Their finishers were: Leanna Weinhold, 27th, 23:02; Olivia Ruff, 38th, 25:04; Mia McKinnis, 41st, 25:17; Jasmin Gandee, 43rd, 25:46; and Leah Swartz, 44th, 25:51.

Port Washington and Cedar Grove-Belgium run in the Port Invite at Tendick Park in the Town of Saukville on Thursday, Oct. 10.
