Centennial events are planned

A lantern launch, food, music and crafts included

Sunday, Oct. 2, marks the 100th anniversary of the incorporation of the Village of Belgium.

Several events will mark the occasion at Buechler Farms and Village Hall.

On Saturday, Oct. 1, Buechler Farms will offer pumpkins and tractor rides. Belgium waffles, fire department burgers and brats and fire truck rides will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Shad Lads will perform from 1 to 5:30 p.m. Ideal Magic will perform in the barn from 1 to 1:45 p.m. and 3 to 3:45 p.m.

The Jay Road 4-H will hold crafts with kids in the barn from 2 to 3 p.m.

A bonfire and lantern decorating starts at 5:30 p.m. with the centennial lantern lauch at the pond at 7:30 p.m.

Smart Mouth will perform from 7:30 to 11 p.m.

On Sunday, free birthday cupcakes and ice cream will be offered at Village Hall, 104 Peter Thein Ave., at 1:30 p.m.

The Luxembourg American Cultural Society will allow free admission.

Just 2 Dudes will perform as well.
