A celebration of the holidays and more

Members of the Van Ells-Schanen Post 82 American Legion Auxiliary gathered Dec. 17 for their annual holiday celebration, but they had more than just Christmas to celebrate. Members of the Auxiliary met Doc, a service dog they are sponsoring for an Ozaukee County veteran (above). The members include (front row, from left) Christy Love, Vice President Karry Kultgen, President Diane Burkhalter, (middle row) Mary Marchese, Poppy Princess Makayla Wallock, Linda Verhey, (back row) Diane Hutt and Gloria Erickson. Ozaukee County American Legion Commander Jim Schmidt  (left in photo at left) and John Jacque, Post 82 commander, presented Port Washington High School senior Kelly Ball with a certificate of commendation for winning the Van Ells-Schanen Post oratorical presentation.
