Celebrating a watershed moment for women

Ozaukee County Board Chairman Lee Schlenvogt presented a proclamation commemorating the passage of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote, to representatives of the Ozaukee County League of Women Voters last week. They include (upper photo, front row, from left) Louise Mollinger, Vonna Pitel, Schlenvogt and President Barbara Hunt while Ellen MacFarlane, Claire Vanderslice, Susan Waldo, Joyce Harms, Mary Fran Lepeska, Barbara Johnson, Kathy Westphal, Donna Fowler, Marge Palleon and Clyde Winter looked on. The League donated copies of the book “Winning the Vote, the Triumph of the American Woman Suffrage Movement” to the county’s five libraries.                  photo by Sam Arendt
