Celebrating a milestone with family

Lois Greisch of Port Washington turned 90 on Nov. 7, and sixty-seven members of her family — five were unable to attend — gathered to surprise her on Nov. 1 with a celebration at Engine Room 102 in downtown Port. Greisch posed with her children Tim, Jan Lanser, Jackie Schwanz, Bill and Bob, and with her extended family (below), which includes 21 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren at the party. She was born on Nov. 7, 1935, to Ruth and John Lamb, and grew up with her four sisters and a brother in Dacada. She attended grade school at St. Nicholas School in Dacada and graduated from Port Washington High School. In 1956, she married William “Bounce” Greisch, and the couple settled in Port, where they raised their children. Mr. Greisch died on Jan. 15, 2017. Mrs. Greisch worked in the deli at Sentry Foods in Port until her retirement. “She’s always there for everybody. She talks to everybody, and she’s always willing to help people out,” her daughter Jan said. “She’s got a remarkable faith.”              Photos by Sam Arendt
