Celebrating a birthday, separated but together
Beth Breuer of Port Washington wasn’t going to let the Covid-19 pandemic stop her from celebrating her father David Masters’ 95th birthday on March 30. Her father lives at Harbor Campus in Port Washington, where she delivered his favorite — a chocolate shake from Arby’s — then stood outside his window with a birthday sign when it was delivered. Residents at the senior living center are confined to their rooms to protect them from the virus and visitors aren’t allowed inside. Breuer said she is limiting her visits to once a week instead of her usual six days because the staff has to provide access to the courtyard for her to get to her dad’s window.
