CDL training comes at a cost county may be willing to pay

The Ozaukee County Highway Department would reimburse new truck and equipment drivers as much as $5,000 for their commercial drivers license training under a plan recommended last week by the county Public Works Committee.

The plan is in response to a change by the federal government that requires potential drivers to take formal instruction that can cost up to $5,000, Public Works Director Jon Edgren told the committee.
