Car seats to be fitted at Sept. 15 program

A free car seat fitting program will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Sept. 15.

The program, sponsored by the Ozaukee Washington Public Health Department, will be held at the Washington County Highway Department in West Bend.

Those attending will work one-on-one with a certified car seat technician to learn how to properly install their car seats, have their current car seats inspected for proper installation and receive free car seats while supplies last.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, correctly installed car seats reduce the risk of fatal injury by as much as 71% for infants and 54% for toddlers.

Advance registration is required and can be done online at  https://wophd.readyop.com/fs/4cDL/827c11fa or by calling  (262) 284-8170.

The highway department is at 900 Lang St.
