Boosters’ Chili Day to showcase student talent, raise money for the arts
The Grafton Music and Theater Boosters will showcase student talent while raising money for the School District’s performing arts program during its Chili Day on Saturday, March 11, at Grafton High School.
The event, which will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., will feature performances by student groups ranging from elementary school choirs to high school ensembles and bands.
Homemade meat and vegetable chili as well as hot dogs will be served, and there will be a cake walk.
There will also be a silent auction and an instrument petting zoo.
The schedule of performances is sixth-grade choir at 11 a.m., seventh-grade choir at 11:10 a.m., eighth-grade choir at 11:20 a.m., John Long Middle School chorale at 11:30 a.m., Grafton High chorale at 11:40 a.m., concert choir at 11:50 a.m., fourth and fifth-grade choir at noon, Graftonics at 12:10 p.m., combined fourth through 12th-grade choir at 12:20 p.m., combined band rehearsal at 1 p.m., sixth-grade band and transition at 1:30 p.m., seventh-grade band and transition at 1:45 p.m., eighth-grade band and transition at 2 p.m., concert band and transition at 2:15 p.m., wind ensemble and transition at 2:30 p.m. and combined sixth through 12th-grade band and transition at 2:45 p.m.
Chili Day is the premiere fundraiser for the Grafton Music and Theater Boosters, which in the past 18 months has provided musical instruments for elementary schools, band T-shirts for the elementary and middle schools, cleaning and repair of Chamber Signer outfits, Wisconsin State Music Association scholarships, Grafton High drum skins and cymbals, college and camp scholarships, iPads for elementary schools and a new piano and tuba for the middle school.
