Belly dance classes start on Sunday

The Grafton Parks and Recreation Department is offering belly dance classes on Sundays from June 22 through July 27.

Participants will learn a set vocabulary of belly dance movements, cues, chorus structure and formations. Improvisational group dancing will allow students to move together as a unit, inviting possibilities for creative expression within the framework of this style. The dance is a Kajira Djoumanha’s format, which initiates from both sides of the body for balance.

Finger cymbals and hip belts (or a shawl) are encouraged but not required.

The cost is $90. Register in advance at https://graftonwi.activityreg.com or call the department at (262) 375-5310.
