Beer, music on tap at Freedom Park on July 18
In the wake of a successful Movie in the Park night, the Village of Fredonia will hold a Bier Garden and Music Night in the Park from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at Freedom Park next to the Fredonia Post Office.
The Village of Fredonia Parks Committee scheduled the event, which will feature a DJ sponsored by Barb’s Pub and Grub.
The Fredonia Firefighter and EMS Association is sponsoring the Bier Garden.
Beverages to be served will include Spotted Cow; a second craft beer, likely a weiss or Octoberfest style, depending on import availability; Bud Light; Smirnoff Strawberry Smash and Budweiser Lime-A-Rita, organizers said.
Food provided by Barb’s Pub and Grub will be served.
Social distancing will be encouraged. Those attending are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets.
The first Movie Night in the Park was held June 27 on the lawn near the Fredonia Government Center and drew more than 80 people, Parks Committee Chairman Dan Gehrke said.
He said the movie and music nights are part of a renewed effort to “provide opportunities for people to come together.
“We’ve been focusing on our parks and getting them up to speed and creating spaces people can actually use.”
Gehrke said the committee will meet after the Music Night event to discuss when to hold more events.
It’s likely another movie night will be held in August and another Bier Garden and Music Night in the fall, Gehrke said.
