Bank, dealership offers aimed at flood victims
With last week’s deluge of rain flooding homes and businesses, a couple of local companies are providing discounted services for area residents.
Late last week, Port Washington State Bank announced it is offering unsecured loans at 2% interest for any resident or business in the county.
Director of Marketing Tarrah Beyer said the loans are meant to support residents and business owners who have uninsured expenses or deductibles that need to be met before they can restore their properties.
She said the maximum loan amount is $5,000, and the term is three years.
Schmit Bros Auto in Saukville is offering free car inspections.
Sales manager Shane Bode said for the next couple of weeks mechanics will check brakes, tires and exhaust systems for any vehicle, even if it’s not from Schmit Bros.
“We want people to know their cars are safe,” he said. “We’re a family owned business and our community is our family.”
