Award-winning essayists

Students at Thomas Jefferson Middle School who won awards in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Patriot Pen essay contest were feted at the school recently. They included (front row, from left) Lila “Birdie” Gremminger, seventh grade; Ruby Boblick, sixth grade; Harper Jackson, eighth grade; Dylan Yass, eighth grade; (back row) Natalie Bricker, eighth grade; Margaret Himsl, seventh grade; Abby O’Brien, seventh grade; Cecelia Stanwood, eighth grade;  and Grayson Suppiger, eighth grade. TJ Sheppard was not present for the photo. Gremminger placed first in the local contest and fifth in the district, while Bricker took second locally and Himsl third.
