Authors to speak, sign books at Port Exploreum
Author Jim Draeger will speak at the Port Exploreum at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 22, as part of the Port Washington Historical Society’s Speaker Series.
The presentation and book signing will be on the second floor of the Exploreum, which is operated by the Historical Society.
Draeger will discuss his book “Bottom’s Up: A Toast to Wisconsin’s Historic Bars and Breweries.”
The talk coincides with the Exploreum’s exhibit on Port’s brewing history.
Other speakers in the series include Steve Rogad, author of “Lincoln Among the Badgers,” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4; Doug Hoverson, who wrote “The Drink That Made Wisconsin Famous: Beer and Brewing in the Badger State,” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12; Paul Hollander, author of “Lost Lady: The Lady Elgin Tragedy,” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16; and Barb Joosse, whose latest book is “The Fishermen, the Horse and the Sea,” at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2.
Tickets are free to Historical Society members and $5 for nonmembers.
