ARTservancy exhibit to open Sept. 13 in Port

The opening reception for ARTservancy, a collaboration between Gallery 224 and the Ozaukee Washington Land Trust, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13.

The reception will be at the gallery, 224 E. Main St., Port Washington.

The exhibit is the culmination of a year-long project involving 12 artists who each selected a Land Trust preserve to inspire their art.

The conservation-themed pieces were also impacted by on-site programming through the year.

The exhibit will be at the gallery through Nov. 9.

In conjunction with the exhibit, the gallery will host a series of Saturday morning “Conversations with the Artists” from 10 to 11 a.m.

The schedule includes:

• Risë Andersen, who worked at the Sauk Creek Nature Preserve; Chris Hewitt, Kurtz Woods; and Nicole Shaver, Forest Beach Migratory Preserve, on Saturday, Sept. 21

• Gina Litherland, Bratt Woods; and Hal Rammel; Hames Nature Preserve; on Saturday, Oct. 5.

• Patricia Bertha Mattingly, Donges Bay Gorge; and Kerry Mattingly, Jens Jensen; on Saturday, Oct. 12.

• Brooklyn Henke, Spirit Lake; Todd Mrozinski, Fellenz Woods; and David Niec, Lake Twelve; on Saturday, Oct. 19.

A closing reception for the exhibit with all the artists present will be held from 2 to 3 p.m, Saturday, Nov. 9.
