ArtServancy artist’s work featured at Gallery 224

Glenda Puhek, who is taking part in the ArtServancy project, will exhibit some of her works at Gallery 224 in Port Washington during November.

Due to the pandemic, the exhibits can be viewed from the windows of the gallery and online at gallery224.org.

Puhek, who works in clay, took inspiration from the Milwaukee River Greenway in Milwaukee during the year-long project.

Her observations during the project took shape in her ceramic works, with Puhek recently telling people that observation is key to the art.

“The science of noticing ... is the most natural part of my art practice. I want to share what I notice, and art is my delivery system,” Puhek said.

ArtServancy is a partnership between Gallery 224, the Ozaukee Washington Land Trust, River Revitalization Foundation and the Milwaukee Area Land Conservancy that aims to promote the work of both the participating artists and conservationists.

A video about the exhibition can be viewed on the gallery’s website.

The gallery is at 303 N. Franklin St.
