Artist receptions to be held this week

Three receptions for new exhibits are scheduled at the Cedarburg Cultural Center this week.

A reception and gallery talk for “The Printmaking of Paul Yank & His Studio Artists” will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 26.

Yank, a master printmaker, put his own personal touches on the monoprint process that he taught to his studio artists, and his unique style and artistic perspective live on in the work of the individuals he mentored for nearly half a century at the Ozaukee Art Center in Cedarburg.

Jack Pachuta, who worked alongside Yank for 16 years, will discuss this process and show how the artists in the exhibit have adapted printmaking to reflect their own styles and viewpoints during the gallery talk. He will show examples of Yank’s process from concept to finished creation, and discuss how each artist produces their one-of-a-kind monoprints.

A reception for “The Art of Claudette Lee-Roseland” will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 29.

Those attending are asked to wear colorful or artsy clothing in celebration of Lee-Roseland’s vibrant spirit.

Proceeds from the sale of her artworks will benefit an art education fund for adult students being set up in her name.

A reception for the exhibit “Blossoms ” was held  Tuesday, May 24.

The exhibit by members of the Cedarburg Artists Guild will benefit the children of Ukraine. The artists will donate proceeds from sales of their artwork.

The center at W62 N546 Washington Ave. is free and open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays.
