April 16 program to discuss future of Milwaukee River
Riveredge Nature Center’s Community Rivers Program will host a “Community Conversation” on the Milwaukee River from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, at the Oscar Grady Public Library in Saukville.
The discussion “is designed to allow for natural sharing of thoughts, concerns and ideas from citizens, homeowners and landowners,” according to a press release.
Participants will “identify issues and connections to the Milwaukee River and our watershed as a whole and develop strategies for reaching future aspirations,” the release states.
The event is free, but RSVPs are requested.
Other Community Conversations on the river are planned from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, at the Grafton Public Library and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, at the Newburg Community Center.
River cleanup days will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 27, at Riverside Park in Saukville; from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 27, at the Kratsch Conservancy near Newburg; and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 27, at Lime Kiln Park and Bratts Woods in Grafton.
