Appliances for Less may bbe the next tenant of a vacant space behind the Verlo mattress store in Grafton.

A permit for the he appliance shop was slated to be considered by the Grafton Plan Commission to operate out of the 4,000-square-foot space at 2089 Wisconsin Ave. during an April 26 meeting.

Owner Heba Musleh said the shop will contain a showroom, storage space, an office and restroom be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with two shifts of four employees each.

Appliances for Less will sell new appliances such as dishwashers, refrigerators and microwaves.

Musleh said she hopes to open the store by June.

Recommended conditions of Musleh’s operating permit are that he must repair a portion of the building’s parking lot, stripe the remainder of the lot, provide a bike rack near the front door and replace a dilapidated dumpster enclosure on the site.

Little Friend Learning Center day care was approved by the Plan Commission in January to open another location in the space, but owner Brooke San Felippo decided not to move forward. The center would have been able to accommodate up to 49 children and feature a fenced outdoor space for children to play.

San Felippo’s operating permit also had conditions that repairs be made to the parking lot and dumpster enclosure and that a bike rack be installed.
