AARP will provide tax return help at library

Starting Feb. 13, volunteers from the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) will be on hand at the Oscar Grady Public Library in Saukville to help people complete  their 2019 tax returns.

Sponsored by AARP and the IRS, volunteers will provide the free service Thursday, Feb. 13; Monday, Feb. 27; Monday, March 12; Thursday, March 26; and Monday, April 9.

The service is available to low to moderate-income filers who have no rental property or farm income and business expenses of less than $5,000.

If married and filing jointly, both taxpayers must be present.

Photo IDs and Social Security cards or Social Security statements are required.

Filers should bring a copy of 2018 tax returns, W-2s from each employer, unemployment compensation statements, SSA-1099 forms if they were paid Social Security benefits and all 1099 tax forms.

Taxpayers receive a complete printed copy of the return.

Appointments are required and there are a limited number of spots available. Each date will have a one hour assigned spot starting at 10.30 a.m.
