‘Green Up Your Winter Blues’ held Feb. 25

The Port Washington Garden Club is holding its annual “Green Up Your Winter Blues” seminar on Saturday, Feb. 25.

The seminar will include four gardening experts sharing information on plants and design techniques that every gardener will be able to put to good use.

Mark Dwyer, former director of horticulture at Janesville Rotary Gardens, will present a session on the plants and design of the healing garden at Edgerton Hospital and Health Services.

Sue Anderson of Oh My Peonies will present a session on peonies, including the various types and varieties available and how to make them shine in the home garden.

Dave Wanninger, former horticulturist in charge at Boerner Botanical Garden, will discuss the best shade plants available and how to use them.

Dean Wiegert, head gardener at AfterGlow Farm, will share his extensive experience with garden primroses. Attendees will learn about this large family of plants and how they can be used in gardens and propagated from seed.

The seminar will be presented as an online webinar format.

Registration is $10, with half the proceeds being donated to the Port Washington Food Pantry.
