Grafton, CG-B girls prevail in Monday soccer PDF Print E-mail

The Grafton girls’ soccer team made the most of its lone goal Monday.

Carley Pfannerstill scored in the 48th minute with an assist from Katie Best, and the host Black Hawks defeated Milwaukee Lutheran, 1-0, in a North Shore Conference makeup game.

The win improved Grafton to 3-2-1 in league play and 14-5-2 overall. Lutheran fell to 1-4-1 in the conference and 10-5-1 overall.

In another NSC makeup game Monday, Port Washington lost to Cedarburg, 5-1. The visiting Bulldogs built a 3-0 lead by halftime and stretched the margin to 5-0 before the Pirates spoiled the shutout.

Port got on the board with an unassisted goal by Cassie Braam in the 79th minute.

The Pirates fell to 0-6 in league play. Cedarburg improved to 4-2.

CG-Belgium 6, Sheboygan Christian 1

The Rockets cruised to their 12th straight victory with an easy Central Lakeshore Conference win at home Monday.

Cedar Grove-Belgium, which improved its second-place record to 9-3, raced to a 4-0 lead in the first half.

Alex Buechler, Hannah Kaul, Rachel Slotman and Mariah Keller each scored during the flurry, with Erika Kirst, Kaul and Kaslin Ebbers credited with assists. Buechler and Kaul sparked the run by scoring in the fifth and sixth minutes, respectively.

In the second period, the Rockets stretched the margin to 6-0 with unassisted goals by Liz Pritzl and Kaul.

Cedar Grove-Belgium improved to 14-4-2 overall.
