Area boys’ basketball teams will put their postseason hopes on the line Tuesday, March 2, when they begin WIAA tournament play with 7 p.m. regional quarterfinal games. In Division 2, Grafton (the No. 7 seed) will travel to Whitefish Bay to face the host Blue Dukes (No. 2). The winner will face the winner of a game between Brown Deer (No. 3) and Milwaukee Messmer (No. 6) in a semifinal contest Thursday, March 4. Top-seeded Port Washington received a opening-round bye. The Pirates’ first game will be March 4, when they host the winner of a quarterfinal between Young Coggs Prep (No. 4) and Shorewood (No. 5). In Division 3, Cedar Grove-Belgium (No. 4) will host Sheboygan Lutheran (No. 5) on March 2. The winner will play the winner of a quarterfinal between Oostburg (No. 1) and St. Lawrence Seminary (No. 8) on March 4. In another Division 3 regional bracket, Ozaukee (No. 3) will host Dodgeland (No. 6) on March 2. The winner will face the winner of a game between Brookfield Academy (No. 2) and Wayland Academy (No. 7) on March 4. Second-round games will be hosted by the highest-seeded teams.
