A late rally propelled the Grafton softball team to a 15-7 win over Port Washington in the North Shore Conference finale for both squads Monday.

Host Port jumped ahead early and took a 7-3 lead into the sixth inning. However, Grafton pulled away by scoring five runs in the sixth and seven runs in the seventh.

Grafton won despite committing five errors and being outhit, 10-9.

The victory left the Black Hawks with an 11-3 record, good for third place in the league race. Port finished 8-6.

Grafton was led at the plate by Amanda Hunt, who went 3-for-4, and Aly Bartel, who was 2-for-3.

Bartel also got the win, pitching the final three innings in relief of Hunt, who started.

Port was led by Sam Wagner, who was 3-for-4. Mikayla Hilton had two hits.

In another NSC finale Monday, Germantown won the title by defeating defending champion Homestead, 4-1.
