The Grafton girls’ basketball team got off to a strong start in the WIAA Division 2 tournament Tuesday night and ended Port Washington’s season in the process.

The host Black Hawks defeated Port, 45-32, in a regional quarterfinal game.

Hannah Eichler led Grafton with 16 points. Marly Trier had nine points for Port.

The win moves Grafton into a 7 p.m. regional semifinal Friday at West Bend East, which received a first-round bye.

In Division 4 girls’ regional quarterfinals Tuesday, Cedar Grove-Belgium defeated Reedsville, 41-35, and Ozaukee lost to Howards Grove, 40-24.

Howards Grove will host Cedar Grove-Belgium in a 7 p.m. regional semifinal Friday.

Friday’s winners will advance to regional title games Saturday.
