Three local players have been awarded All-Northeast Region honors by the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association.

Ozaukee’s Devon Linzenmeyer (running back) and Josh Paape (offensive lineman) received the recognition along with Cedar Grove-Belgium’s Nick Peterson (wide receiver).

Linzenmeyer, a junior, was one of the state’s top rushers. He finished with 1,694 yards and 26 touchdowns on the ground, averaging 9.1 yards per carry.

Paape, a 6-foot-3-inch, 260-pound senior, was the top blocker in a front line that helped Ozaukee pile up nearly 2,900 yards in total offense.

Peterson, a junior, was a versatile player who excelled as a split end, defensive back and kick returner. He caught 10 passes for 247 yards and three touchdowns.

The Northeast Region includes teams from the Central Lakeshore, Eastern Wisconsin, Fox River Classic, Fox Valley Association, Olympian-Packerland and Eastern Valley conferences.
