The Ozaukee football team opened the WIAA playoffs in resounding fashion Tuesday night. Piling up 596 yards in total offense, the host Warriors overpowered Brookfield Academy, 37-0, in a Division 6 first-round game. Ozaukee was sparked by junior Devon Linzenmeyer, who rushed for 312 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries. The Warriors led, 16-0, after one quarter and stretched the margin to 23-0 by halftime. In a Division 5 first-round game, Cedar Grove-Belgium saw its season end with a 30-0 loss to host Brillion, the top-seeded team in its sectional. The Rockets finished the year with a 6-4 record. Ozaukee, which improved to 8-1, advances to a second-round game Saturday, Oct. 30, at Coleman, a No. 1 seed. The starting time was not determined as of a press time Coleman (9-1) defeated Sevastopol, 12-8, on Tuesday. The winner of Saturday’s game will advance to third-round play next week.
