A hard-fought road game ended in a tough loss for the Cedar Grove-Belgium boys’ soccer team Monday.

The Rockets were blanked, 2-0, by Sheboygan Lutheran in Central Lakeshore Conference play.

The Crusaders got goals from Shane Otten and Jeremy Orville in avenging a 2-0 loss to Cedar Grove-Belgium last month.

The teams appeared headed for a scoreless first half, but Lutheran found the net with just two seconds left before intermission.

“It was a tough loss, but we’re playing hard and continuing to learn,” Cedar Grove-Belgium coach Jim Schmidt said.

Schmidt said the Rockets’ offense  was slowed by the absence of junior forward Kyle Kirst.

The Rockets got another strong defensive effort from goalkeeper Justin DeSmidt, who had six saves.

The loss left Cedar Grove-Belgium at 5-8 in league play and 7-11-2 overall.

The Warriors fell behind early and couldn’t recover in a CLC road defeat Monday.

Christian was led by two goals from Brady Otte.

Ozaukee avoided a shutout with a goal by Tyler Flanders.

The Warriors slipped to 0-13 in conference games and 1-19 overall.
