Would-be replacements given until Oct. 31 to submit letters of intent

Jen Schoenfeldt, who has served on the Saukville Village Board since 2006, has resigned as a village trustee.

Schoenfeldt plans to move to Grafton in October, after she marries Mark Haas.

“I really don’t want to leave the board, especially when things are starting to get interesting with the budget,” she said.

“I’ve lived in Saukville all my life, and Mark has already promised we’ll move back some day.”

Schoenfeldt won her third term on the board in spring of 2010, finishing as the top vote-getter in a five-way race. That term expires next April.

The board accepted her resignation Tuesday, and set into motion the process to find a replacement.

Residents interested in the vacancy can submit letters of intent and resumes by Oct. 31. If more than one candidate applies, interviews will be held in November, with a possible appointment in December.

Trustees are elected at-large, so any village resident is eligible for the position.

Schoenfeldt has served as chairman of the Public Works and Cemetery committees, and was a member of the Library Board.

She has an MBA from Cardinal Stritch University and works at 4Front Engineered Solutions in Mequon.
