Holiday festivities to continue Saturday with Santa breakfast and 38th annual ‘We’ve Got that Christmas Feeling’ parade through downtown

The spirit of Christmas will soon light up Grafton.
Holiday festivities in the village officially started Sunday, Nov. 19, when the annual tree-lighting ceremony was held at the Paramount Plaza.
In addition to more than 20 decorated trees lining the plaza, the event featured live music, hot chocolate and cookies.
During the festivities, the Grafton Area Chamber of Commerce presented its annual awards for the outstanding citizen and community group. This year’s recipients are the Rose-Harms American Legion Post 335 as the community group of the year and John Gassert as outstanding citizen. Gassert is the president and treasurer of the  Grafton Lions Club and chairman of the Village of Grafton Community Development Authority board.
The holiday celebration will continue Saturday, Nov. 25, with Breakfast With Santa and the 38th annual Christmas parade. Both events are presented by the Chamber.
The breakfast will be held from 7:30 to 10 a.m. at Circle B Recreation Center, 6261 Hwy. 60, Town of Cedarburg.
The buffet meal will feature pancakes, sausage links, applesauce, juice, milk and coffee. The meal will be served by the Grafton Lions and Leos.
Families are invited to bring their cameras to take photos with Santa and costumed characters.
“We’ve Got that Christmas Feeling” is the theme of this year’s parade, which begins at 11 a.m. and travels through downtown Grafton.
The two-hour procession will feature more than 130 units, including marching bands, drill teams, floats, civic groups and costumed figures, as well as a special appearance by Santa on his sleigh.
Gassert will be this year’s parade marshal.
The parade starts at Sixth Avenue and Washington Street, proceeds east to Wisconsin Avenue and then travels south.
