Former Port Washington and Grafton resident Robert Breitzman Sr. was an accomplished bowler.
“We used to call him Twinkle Toes,” his wife Cheryl said. “He was great at bowling. He got plenty of 200s.”
The Breitzmans bowled in a couples league in Port Washington for many years, and Mr. Breitzman also bowled in a men’s league, his wife said.
“It was a lot of fun,” she said.

Mr. Breitzman died of cancer Thursday, Dec. 16, at Mercy Hospital in Muskegon, Mich. He was 69.

Mr. Breitzman was born in Milwaukee on Sept. 3, 1941, to Jerome and Florence Douman Breitzman.

A graduate of Port Washington High School, he joined the U.S. Navy and served for four years, then joined the U.S. Air Force and served for four years.
He was a member of the American Legion.

On May 8, 1984, he married Cheryl Winkler in Milwaukee.

Mr. Breitzman worked in the purchasing department of Construction Forms in Port Washington until retiring.

The couple lived in Grafton for about 10 years before moving to Florida for a year, then moving to Muskegon.

“He had a great sense of humor,” his wife said. “He was loved a lot.”

Mr. Breitzman was a huge fan of the University of North Carolina Tar Heels, especially the men’s basketball team — a throwback to the years he lived in North Carolina — his wife said.

Mr. Breitzman is survived by his wife Cheryl of Muskegon, Mich.; daughters Chris Rowen of Port Washington and Laura (Steve) Ellingsworth of Greenville, N.C.; sons Bob Jr. of Charlotte, N.C., John (Laura) of Racine, Craig (fiancee Shelia) Depies of Bay View and Grant (Laree) Depies of Muskegon, Mich.; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He is further survived by his sister Barb (Tom) Dieringer of Port Washington.
Mr. Breitzman was preceded in death by his parents Jerome and Florence and a sister Lynn Young.

Private funeral services were held.

Memorials to the American Cancer Society are suggested.
Funeral arrangements were handled through Sytsema Funeral Homes, Muskegon, Mich.
