Port Washington High School graduate William L. Scherer died while playing baseball in Milwaukee on Saturday, July 16. Mr. Scherer was 51.

He suffered a heart attack, his sister said.

A funeral service for Mr. Scherer will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, July 22, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 140 N. Seventh Ave., West Bend. The Rev. David Schoob will officiate.

Visitation will be from 3:30 to 5:45 p.m. Friday at the church.

Interment will be at St. Finbar Cemetery in the Town of Saukville.

Funeral arrangements were handled through Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend.

Longtime Port Washington High School vocal music teacher William H. Ross died  at his Port Washington home Tuesday, July 19, after a brief fight with cancer. He was 67. 

A memorial gathering will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 22, at Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington. 

A worship service celebrating Mr. Ross’ life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 100 N. Astor St., Milwaukee. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Bill and Lonie Ross Music Scholarship in care of the Community Education Foundation of Port Washington Saukville.

Edith M. O’Connor, who grew up in Port Washington, died Saturday, April 16 — four days after her husband Peter — at United Hospital System’s Kenosha Campus. She was 80.

A memorial service for Mrs. O’Connor was held June 10 at All Saints Mausoleum Chapel in Kenosha. Pastoral associate Karen Metallo officiated.

Entombment was in All Saints Mausoleum.

Funeral arrangements were handled through Proko Funeral Home & Crematory in Kenosha.

Carol Ann “Cam” Miller, 74, of Belgium died Saturday, July 9, at Horizon Hospice in Mequon.

A private celebration of Mrs. Miller’s life will be held in the near future.

Donations to the Salvation Army are suggested.

Eernisse Funeral Home of Belgium is handling arrangements.

Longtime Fredonia resident Shirley A. Lohuis died Monday, July 11, at Horizon Inpatient Hospice in Mequon after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, July 15, at Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington.

Mrs. Lohuis’ grandson Daniel Kuckuck will conduct the service.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the service.

Interment will be at Union Cemetery in Cedar Grove.

Memorials to the auxiliaries of American Legion Post 412 and VFW Post 5373 are suggested.

Saukville resident Karen S. Gruman died after a nine year struggle with ovarian cancer on Thursday, July 7, at her home on Regis Road. She was 62.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Monday, July 11, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Saukville.

Father Tom Lijewski and Father Karl Acker officiated.

Interment was at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Random Lake.

Arrangements were handled by Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington.
