Peter W. O’Malley of Port Washington died of liver cancer Sunday, Feb. 14, at Lawlis Family Hospice Center in Mequon. He was 65.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church in Port Washington. Father Patrick Wendt will officiate.

Visitation will be at the church Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the service.

Burial with military honors will be at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.

Memorials are suggested in Mr. O’Malley’s name to Dryhootch, 1030 E. Brady St., Milwaukee 53202.

Funeral arrangements are being handled through Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington.

Belgium native Alan Tackes, 53, died Saturday, Feb. 6, in Granada Hills, Calif., after a short battle with cancer.

Services were held in California.

A local parochial school educator who answered a call from a higher power for a late career change has died.

Pastor Elmer Lisch, 83, formerly of Port Washington, died Thursday, Feb. 11.

A funeral was held Sunday, Feb. 14, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel, with Pastor David Laabs officiating. Burial was at Kiel City Cemetery.

Memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne and Trinity Lutheran School, Kiel, are encouraged.

Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, Kiel, handled arrangements.

At barely 5 feet tall, Marion Wicinski’s physical stature was far from imposing. But the impact she made on the lives of people she knew was colossal.

Mrs. Wicinski, 88, died Monday, Feb. 15, at Ellen’s Home in Port Washington.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington. Father Pat Wendt will officiate.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service.

A private burial will take place at a later date.

Memorials to the Saukville Rebels football program are encouraged.

Active and well-known community supporter Melvin Hubing, 85, died at his Belgium home Tuesday, Feb. 9.

A funeral service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13 at Eernisse Funeral Home in Belgium. Father Jim Ernster will preside. 

Military honors will follow the service.

Visitation will be from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Walk-throughs for the Belgium Fire Department, American Legion and VFW will start at 1:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to Belgium American Legion Post 412, Belgium Lions or the Belgium Fire and Rescue.

Jeanne Gassert, 66, found her passion in painting.

The former nurse who also loved plants died Sunday, Feb. 7, at her home in Grafton from non-smoking-related lung cancer.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, at Saint Francis Borgia North Catholic Church, Cedarburg. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Grafton.

Visitation will be held at the church Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Memorials to Advocates of Ozaukee, Riveredge Nature Center or Bookworm Gardens in Sheboygan are appreciated.

Mueller Funeral Home in Grafton is handling arrangements.
