Newburg resident Raymond W. Kirmse, an expert mechanic who for years delivered food to the needy, died Wednesday, Feb. 10. He was 78.

A robust man who remained active later in life, Mr. Kirmse died as a result of injuries suffered in a front-end loader accident at this home, his son Lance said.

He is survived by his wife Sally of Newburg; four children, Lance of West Bend, Kelly (Dan Johnson) Kastner of Dundee and Jodie Kirmse and Robert, both of Newburg; five grandchildren, Amber (Ross) Hoff, Molly jo Johnson, Jake Kastner, Luke Kastner and Garrett Johnson; and one great-grandson.

Mr. Kirmse is further survived by four sisters, Blanche Batterman of Glendale, Jenny Kurtz of West Bend, Myrtle (Merlin) Wilkens of Germantown and Marilou (Clyde) Gerner of Newburg; three brothers, Eugene (Marilyn) of Saukville, Robert (Loretta) of West Bend, and Jack (Carol) of Campbellsport; two sisters-in-law, Suzie Kirmse of Newburg and Pam Soderlund of Stanley; and two brothers-in-law, Don Race Sr. of Saukville and Stan Olson of West Bend.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Herriges and Winnie Race; his brother Orville; and three brothers-in-law, Wally, Clarence and Joe.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Newburg. The Rev. Jon Baumann will officiate.

Visitation will be at the church Thursday from noon until the service.

Burial will be in St. John’s Church Cemetery.

Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, West Bend, is handling the arrangements.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Tuesday, Feb. 16, for Port Washington resident Paul “Sweeny” Weyker, 73, who died Wednesday, Feb. 10, at Cedar Springs Rehabilitation Center in Cedarburg.

The Mass was held at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church in Port Washington. Father Patrick Wendt officiated.

Burial was at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Port Washington.

Memorials to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or the Port Washington Lions Club are requested.

Arrangements were handled by Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington.

Funeral services will be Friday, Feb. 19, for Cedarburg resident Kathy “Kat” Schoen.

Mrs. Schoen, 60, died Saturday, Feb. 13, at Columbia St. Mary’s Ozaukee Hospital in Mequon.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg.

Visitation will be at the church from 5 p.m. until the service.

Memorials to the family are requested.

Arrangements are being handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg.

Village of Belgium resident James R. Smith, 47, died Sunday, Feb. 14, at his home on Lindale Street after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, at Eernisse Funeral Home in Belgium. The Rev. Jeff Suddendorf and the Rev. Frederick Trost will officiate.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the service.

Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lake Church.

A memorial fund has been established to help the family.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, Feb. 19, for Alice Hoffmann, 81, of Blue Goose Road in the Town of Saukville, who died Monday, Feb. 15, at Heritage Nursing Home in Port Washington.Visitation will be at the church Friday from noon until the liturgy.

Interment will be at Zur Ruhe Cemetery in Cedarburg.

Memorials to St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church are requested.

Arrangements are being handled by Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg.

Dorothy E. Dodds, who lived on Whitefish Road in Port Washington, died Monday, Feb. 8, at Harbor Campus in Port. She was 82.

A memorial Mass for Ms. Dodds will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington. Father Tom Lijewski will officiate.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday until the Mass.
