A memorial service was held Sunday, Feb. 9, for Waubeka resident Paul D. Schweiger, who died of pneumonia Thursday, Feb. 6, at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton.

Mr. Schweiger, 58, was born in Milwaukee on March 8, 1955, the son of Donald and Josephine Scanlon Schweiger.

He graduated from Slinger High School in 1973 and worked as a maintenance supervisor at Charter Steel in Saukville for nearly 20 years.

He then started Riverside Machining.

He lived in Waubeka since 1995.

Family members said Mr. Schweiger enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time with his friends and family.

“He was generous to a fault and was always there for others,” his daughter Jessi Schweiger said. “He could fill a room with laughter.”

Mr. Schweiger is survived by his daughter Jessi of Waubeka and grandchildren Hannah Schueller and Jack Simonson.

He is further survived by his siblings Mark (Karen) of Wautoma, Mary Corrigan of Winthrop Harbor, Ill., and Jane (Kevin) Stewart of Woodstock, Ill.

Mr. Schweiger was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John.

Memorials to the Ozaukee County Humane Society are requested.

Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington, handled the arrangements.

DuWayne R. Demge of Grafton, who battled a rare form of lung cancer for the past four years, died of the disease at St. Joseph Hospital in West Bend Saturday, Feb. 8.

    He was 50.

    A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington. Father Thomas Lijewski will officiate.

    Visitation will be at Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday.

    Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Washington.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Port Washington Firefighter’s Association are suggested.

Port Washington native Elizabeth M. Lauth died Monday, Feb. 10, in Libertyville, Ill.

    Mrs. Lauth, whose family owned Schils Bakery in downtown Port Washington, was 92.
    A funeral Mass for Mrs. Lauth will be held at noon Thursday, Feb. 20, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E. Maple Ave., Libertyville.

    Visitation will be at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl., Libertyville, from 10 to 11:45 a.m. Feb. 20.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 8, for Helen E. Jagow, 90, who died Friday, Jan. 31, at Harbor Cove in Port Washington. She formerly lived in Fredonia.

    The service will be at 1 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fredonia. The Rev. Robert Zick will officiate.

    Visitation will be at the church Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service.

    Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Fredonia.

    Memorials are suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fredonia.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Tuesday, Feb. 4, for Marian R. Scharnow, 82, of Port Washington.

    Mrs. Scharnow died Friday, Jan. 31, at Harmony of Brentwood Park in Franklin.  

    The Mass was held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington. Father Tom Lijewski officiated.

    Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association.

    Eernisse Funeral Home of Port Washington handled arrangements.

Helen T. Kassens, 74, of Grafton, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa from injuries she sustained in an accident on the family farm on Lakefield Road.
 
    A Mass of Christian burial was held Tuesday, Jan. 28, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grafton. Father Steve Lampe officiated.

    Interment was in the parish cemetery.

    Memorials to St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish or the Los Toros Foundation are suggested.

    Mueller Funeral Home of Grafton handled arrangements.
