Marie J. Irwin of Port Washington, who was born on a small dairy farm in the Town of Saukville more than a century ago, died Thursday, Jan. 31.
    Mrs. Irwin was born May 17, 1917, one of the 10 children of John and Louisa Hahn Turck. She would have been 101 years old on her next birthday.
    Mrs. Irwin attended Immaculate Conception School in Saukville. She married Harold A. Irwin of the Town of Grafton on June 26, 1937.
    The couple lived and worked in Port Washington. In 1940, they a built a home at the corner of West Lincoln Avenue and South Garfield Street. Mrs. Irwin lived in the house until the summer of 2016. At the time of her death, she was a resident of the Harbor Club in Port Washington.
    Mr. Irwin died on July 5, 1991.
    Mrs. Irwin is survived by her daughters Linda Coen of Goleta, Calif., and Jean (William) Schanen of Port Washington.
    She is also survived by her grandchildren Bill (Greta) Schanen IV, Erin (Richard Reichelsdorfer) Schanen, Michelle (Jeff) Dalton and Lisa (Keith) Leighton, and six great-grandchildren.
    All of Mrs. Irwin’s siblings — Alice Hoffer, Evelyn Williams, Lillian Tutas, Lousie Wynkoop, Helen Kemp and William, Wilfred, John and Joseph Turck — preceded her in death.
    Poole Funeral Home served the family.
