Port Washington resident James W. Nierode died of Paget’s disease, a type of bone cancer, Thursday, July 29, at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg, where he had lived for the past several weeks. He was 78. A funeral service for Mr. Nierode was held Tuesday, Aug. 3, at Poole Funeral Home in Port Washington. The Rev. Brandon Lemons of Friedens Church in Port Washington officiated. Burial at in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Grafton with military honors by the Ozaukee Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5373. Memorials are suggested.
