Former Port Washington resident Mathias J. “Matt” Bruendl Jr., 80, of West Des Moines, Iowa, died Thursday, May 20, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services were held May 26 at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines. Burial was at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines. Arrangements were handled through Hamilton’s Funeral Home in West Des Moines.
