Ilse Evensen (Becker) was born on Oct. 3, 1930, in Milwaukee.
She attended Washington High School and graduated in 1948.
She met Charles (Chuck) Evensen at the VA Hospital in Milwaukee and was married in 1956. They moved to Grafton and raised their two girls, Debbie and Linda.
They moved to Wisconsin Rapids in 1978 and retired to Lake Camelot, which they enjoyed for more than 20 years. They eventually moved into Pirco Park, where they enjoyed their retirement years.
Ilse suffered from dementia and moved to Minnesota in 2015 to Summit Place in Eden Prairie. She lived there the past two years and passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 31.
Ilse is survived by her daughter Debbie, who resides in Eden Prairie, Minn., and her husband Clint Dorgan and their 17-year-old daughter Samantha. Samantha was Ilse's pride and joy. Ilse's other daughter, Linda, is married to Steve Obermann. Her beloved sister, Ann Girlinghouse, resides in Franklin  with her daughter Diane Henseler.
Ilse was active in the Disabled American Veterans Association in Wisconsin Rapids and enjoyed many years of volunteering at the local hospitals. Your friendship and love to Mom is greatly appreciated.
A funeral service was to be held at Washburn-McReavy in Eden Prairie at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday,  Sept. 6,  with visitation one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Washburn McReavy Eden Prairie Funeral Chapel, 6725 Mitchell Road, Eden Prairie, Minn., is handling the arrangements.
