John F. Coakley, 82, of Campbellsport, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, at his home with his family gathered around him.  
He was born In Menomonee, Mich., on June 12, 1935, the son of the late George and Jenny (Larson) Coakley.  
In December 1959, he married Dolores A. Piaszak in Schiller Park, Ill.
John worked as a machinist at Orion Industries before retiring. He also wrote cookie recipes for the Current Newspaper. John enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, hunting, fishing, Sunday rides with Shirley, but most of all spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his sons Brian (Christine) Coakley of Fillmore, Scott Coakley of West Bend, Ken Coakley of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Joseph (Irmgard) Coakley of Macomb, Mich.; grandchildren Nicholas, Angela,  Jennifer and Tony; great -grandchildren Ary, Nick, Nate, Ireland and Barrett; brother Kenneth (Shirley) Coakley; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.  
He was preceded in death by his wife Dolores on Aug. 12, 2006, and his son Donald Mueller.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, at Twohig Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St., Campbellsport. Father Neil Zinthefer will officiate, and cremation will follow.  
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the services at the funeral home.
