Julie R. Helzer of Port Washington loved being a mother and watching the Denver Broncos.
“She loved and adored her kids, electronics and the Broncos,” her sister Alison Helzer-Bonenfant said.
Ms. Helzer, 40, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton.
She was born in Rochester, N.Y., on July 20, 1977, to Dennis and Cindy Helzer.
Ms. Helzer was raised in Loveland and Eaton, Colo., and graduated from Eaton High School in 1994.
Ms. Helzer married William Richardson in 2000.
Although Ms. Helzer had many jobs, she loved information technology, her family said. She was employed with Omni Resources after teaching herself to be an IT specialist.
Ms. Helzer was known for her collection of shoes and was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, her family said.
Ms. Helzer is survived by her children Teagan and Shyla Richardson, both of Saukville; parents Dennis and Cindy Helzer of Pittsford, N.Y.; sister Alison (Jayson) Helzer-Bonenfant; grandmother Darlene Helzer of Greeley Colo.; and her special friend Mike Mack of Milwaukee.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Richard Lee Helzer and William and Nancy Hamilton.
A memorial picnic was held at Upper Lake Park in Port Washington on Monday, Aug. 7.
In lieu of flowers, donations to a GoFundMe account set up to help support her children are suggested.
Poole Funeral Home, Port Washington, handled the arrangements.
