Edward Neuens died Monday, May 15, at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. The Fredonia resident was 83.

Mr. Neuens was born Aug. 2, 1933, son of  Oliver Neuens and Florence Jacque Neuens.  He grew up in the Fredonia area and attended high school in Port Washington.  

In 1952, Mr. Neuens joined the U.S. Marine Corp, serving in Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1955.  

After returning home, he worked at the family business, Neuens Lumber, in Fredonia. He was a member of the American Legion Post 410 and the Saukville Rifle & Pistol Club.

Mr. Neunes enjoyed shooting, hunting, and fishing up north.  

He is survived by fiancée Cynthia Zettler of Fredonia, and sisters Carolyn Thompson of Severna Park, Md., and Sarah (Paul) Ansay of Verona.  

He is preceded in death by his parents.

In accordance to Mr. Neuens’ wishes, private funeral services will be held.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project.
