County Board Supr. Tom Winker won another two-year term representing the 1st District in Tuesday’s election.

Winker beat Belgium Village President Vickie Boehnlein, who was seeking her first county office, by 70 votes, 348 to 278, according to unofficial results.

Turnout was 35%, with 717 of 2,039 registered voters casting ballots.

Winker has been on the Belgium Town Board for 10 years, the last eight as chairman.

He is a member of the Wisconsin Towns Association and unit director for Ozaukee County. He is a member of the Belgium Melvin Wester American Legion Post 412, the Belgium Lions and a charter member of St. Mark Lutheran Church.

Winker’s No. 1 issue is the Lasata Senior Living Campus in Cedarburg.

“Our first charge as county taxpayers is we need to take care of the elderly of Ozaukee County,” he said.
