William Schmucker

Mr. William Albert Schmucker was born in Pittsburgh on Christmas Day 1931.                                                                                                                                 

He married his high school sweetheart in June of 1952.  

William graduated from the Carnegie Institute of Technology, which is currently a part of the Carnegie-Mellion University of Pittsburgh, with a degree in mechanical engineering. 

During his career of more than 50 years, he worked for United States Steel, Kaiser Engineering, Allis-Chalmers, HOH Engineering and Odermath. He was a registered professional in five states and held four patents on his machine designs. As a lifetime member of the Association for Iron & Steel Technology, he had several published articles in engineering magazines. In his many travels for work and pleasure, he visited 28 of our United States and 11 countries. 

William enjoyed the game of golf, reading his newspaper and watching the news. His wife of 58 years, Doreen, preceded him in death in 2010. 

He is survived by his daughter Bonnie Lee (the late Robert) Steele; his son Alan (Mary) Schmucker; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, all of whom reside in Wisconsin. 

William passed away of natural causes at his home while surrounded by his family on Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at the age of 86.

Funeral services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday, March 2, at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington.  Pastor Sid Litke will preside.  

William will be laid to rest beside his wife in St. Mary's Mausoleum, Port Washington, the following day.  

The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 4 p.m. until services at 5:30 p.m.
