Belgium’s water tower on the west side of the village will be getting a new look.

The Village Board this month approved painting the village logo and motto on both sides of the tower for $16,000.

The money is coming from the water tower fund, which has more than $305,000. Much of that money is from cell phone companies that put up towers on the village’s two water towers.

Director of Public Works Dan Birenbaum said the work is expected to be done sometime next month.

The water tower will be painted light blue along with the village’s newly adopted logo and its motto, “Building our future, honoring our past.”

The village’s other water tower was just painted a couple of years ago and won’t be painted for several years, Birenbaum said.
